Scottish outdoor clothing shop Tiso is giving away free kit with every pair of footwear sold this month. Walkers who buy shoes or boots costing up to £90 will receive a free pair of socks with every purchase, while those who spend over £90 will be given a free pair of walking poles or gaiters.

The offer lasts throughout September in Tiso’s 14 stores to coincide with the launch of its new autumn and winter ranges.

The new October issue of Country Walking includes an in-depth guide to buying leather boots as well as the results of tough tests on 16 of the most popular pairs of boots for men and women. Don’t buy new boots until you’ve read the reviews.
