If you head for Arran, have already climbed Goatfell or would like to have the pants scared off you, the traverse of Beinn Tarsuinn, Cir Mhor and Caisteal Abhail is where you need to head. This is one of Scotland’s most difficult mountain traverses, the A’Chir ridge in particular being an exciting and technical rock-climbing epic.
Best route: can be linked to Goatfell in the Glen Rosa Horseshoe, but a linear traverse over all three peaks then descending into Glen Sannox is a fine mountaineering expedition.
