I climbed up here as my first winter munro in April. There was lots of snow around and it was a real thrill climbing up it. The views were amazing and well worth the climb. I walked up the valley originally intending to go to Creag Megaidh but once I had ascended the col I decided to go to Stob Poite Coire Ardair and onto Carn Liath. It was an excellent day out with quite a few scary moments as there was so much snow around. I would definitely wait until theres snow as the views were really outstanding but make sure you have some winter skills as it can get a little hair raising at times and make sure you have nough light left in the day to get down as once on the summit its a lng way down.
