Facility information

This is one of UK’s finest ridge scrambles. For 200m you’re walking along a desperately narrow and jagged tightrope of rock. There are precipitous drops on either side – and yet in good conditions it’s exhilarating rather than terrifying.   It’s an airy ridge walk that leads you to a high top between the wild Blackmount range and the Lake-District–sized emptiness of Rannoch Moor.

I did this route from east to west and found that once you had made the first 2000ft it became very exiting for the rest of the day, with some extreem exposure over the crazy pinnacles,AS there have been several fatalities desending Clachaig gully I came down the scree slope just s/w of sgorr nam fiannaidh summit with no problems a great day all in all
