Facility information

Glen Coe’s giant: a precipitous monster of raked, naked ridges thrusting from the legendary Clachaig Inn. A fitting and deserving crown to Scotland’s most famous outdoor playground.

Best route: leaving from NN168568, head between the Three Sisters and tackle Bidean via the best ridge for your abilities – for most, up via Stob Coire non Lochan, and down via Coire Gabhail.

If you get the snow and can ascend via Broad Gully on Stob Coire, then you have the perfect Glencoe experience.

I have only climbed this monster in winter but when I have it has given me my best days out in our hills. If there is a veiw its as good as any I have seen and the options of reaching its summit are varied, the lost valley head wall covered in snow is the best.

And one of my favourite hills. I must have climbed it a dozen times and it's been different every time. A huge, rugged beast, or a pleasant afternoons walk depending on weather and route. That variety is part of it's magic.
