Probably much overlooked in favour of the nearby munro's but this corbett is an absolute cracker. I had the whole mountain to myself on a weekday even though the weather was perfect.
One of the best features of Ben Loyal is its multiple summits, you can spend a good half day exploring them all once youve climbed this mountain, and the panoramic views from the different perpspectives are just incredible. 360 degree views of moorland, sea, mountains, glens, and lochs for miles around.
I approached it from the east starting out from Loch Craggie and up via Bealach Clais Nan Ceap, which was pretty much pathless and steep at times but well worth the effort.
