Our third and final Wainwright of the day as we walked the ridge separating Derwent/Borrowdale from Newlands was definitley the best, fantastic views, a bit of snow, no crowds, interesting ridge walk from Maiden Moor and a great cairn (once we had located the correct one!).
Just have to mention the way down through the old quarry towards Rosthwaite. It was steep, full of narrow slate steps and loose pieces of rock with a generous covering of ice - scariest descent I have ever done especially as the light was starting to fail (having said that I dont think it would have been much fun ascending that way either)
