Facility information

This peak is situated on the south western ridge of Skiddaw. Ullock Pike pokes up from the ridge giving plenty of views to all sides apart from the east, where Skiddaw blocks the way. Alfred Wainwright was particularly fond of the ridge saying: "There is no doubt in my mind that by far the best approach to the top of Skiddaw is by way of its north-west ridge. This offers a fine expedition along a narrow crest in exciting surroundings and provides excellent views throughout."

very gradual ascent up from mirehouse and along the edge, brings you to Ullock Pike. great views across bassenthwaite and beyond and also across to Skiddaw if the weather permits. This is easily the most interesting approach to Skiddaw, continuing via Longside Edge and the Carlside col.
