Carlside is a bland bump of a hill. I'm glad i didn't slog up it in my attempt to reach skiddaw (which was eventually thwarted by the weather anyway) and instead came down over it after slippy snow stopped play. The White Stones are a good spot for a break - great views towards Derwent Water.
