A popular dales mountain and can be a bit busy in the summer months.A bit of a bogtrot at times but for me that only adds interest.Whle yhe most popular route is from Kettlewell via Hag Dike scout centre my prefered start is over the tops at Scar House reservoir in Nidderdale. The approach can be along Angram reservoir and Stonebeck and descend either down to the source of the river Nidd or along the boggy ridge to Little Whernside and down Deadmans Hill to L odge and return along the side of Scar House Reservoir.A good walk but it can be bit rough in places.
