If done from the Hadraw side it makes a good round to come off the summit to the Buttertubs Pass road then either use a bit of Open Access or Rights of Way to make your way back down to Sedbusk.Like all hills it is best left for days with good views. The main P.W. path is in much better condition now after some remedial work over the last few years.

Not hugely impressive by itself, but a nice feature to include in a walk from either side; Hardraw in Wenslydale, or Thwaite in Swaledale. If the weather is good, then the views from the top are some of my favourite in the dales, looking most of the way down Swaledale and a fair part of Wenslydale, along with the Buttertubs pass, always good to watch cyclists struggling up!!! Best as part of a couple of days exploring the area, a fave of mine is camping at Usha Gap near Muker in Swaledale, and walking upto Thwaite then over Great Shunner down to Hardraw, a well earned pint at the Green Dragon before either camping in Hardraw (just over the bridge from the pub) or heading over to Hawes and camping or youth hostelling there.
