Sorry, written 'Higher Willhays', and it is of course just 'High' Willhays. Awful mistake for a local!! Sorry!

A favourite in Ten Tors, and a must for any walker in the southwest, Higher Willhays is most demanding and rewarding when approacing it from Kitty Tor, on the opposite side of the aptly named 'Death Valley'. From Kitty you descend a few hundred metres to then go all the way back up again and you are then rewarded (but only on a clear day!) with fantastic views over all of Dartmoor. For a less challenging walk it can be approached from Anthony Stile, from which you can take a path up to Yes Tor and from there Higher Willhays. All in all a great Tor!

As the highest point on Dartmoor and indeed the south west it is one of the obvious peeks to head for. When you do it will meet your exceptions. It is a remote and high hill in which you need good navigational skill to reach the top. When you reach the top you will be rewarded with expansive views over the rest of Dartmoor. Because of its remoteness and the everchanging Dartmoor wether it will be a rewarding hill and an exciting day out for anyone.
