There is a very good introduction to scrambling to be had here. Approached from the east, (we came form Wetherlam), there was a lovely scramble up onto the top. It looked daunting to start with, but once we were going it was great fun. Views are good from the top and the slight ridge walk to the Old Man of Coniston was great. Best used as part of a longer walk.
