Facility information

Like a weightlifter hunched over a barbell, the burly St Sunday Crag is immediately arresting from its Grisedale approaches. On the mountain’s north face there lives a feature that fits this sharpened profile perfectly: Pinnacle Ridge, one of the Lake District’s great nerve-chewers.
Best route it’s for Grade 3 scramble enthusiasts only, but they don’t get better than Pinnacle Ridge (NY369134)

Top day out. Start from Patterdale and track up the Grizedale valley. Follow the Elmhow zig zags to the bottom of Pinnacle ridge, then enjoy the exposure! A rope and some climbing gear are advised for the diff climb in the middle. Once you top out from the ridge, it's a short walk to the summit. Then just follow the path back to Patterdale for a beer or two ;-) What could be better?
