Despite being so close to the summit of Helvellyn, this peak is suitably named as it's still possible to have this top to yourself, -though maybe not for as long as in Wainwright's heyday - just by leaving the 'motorway' across the plateau for a few minutes. Excellent views down Grisedale and of Striding Edge. Many will 'bag' this on an extended day across the Helvellyn massif, but there is a scramble up from behind the Ruthwaite Lodge if you want a more adventurous route to the top.
