One of the less accessible peaks in Snowdonia Yr Elen is really worth the effort. Once off the highway which is the main Carneddau ridge Yr Elen offers a green oasis of peace and stillness with views unique to this peak. Best ascended from the Carneddau ridge I have climbed it from Bethesda but wouldn't recommend it as a hill to do on its own. If you are venturing near Llewellyn then make the journey over to Yr Elen.
