start your circuit of the c.i.massif on the a487 at car park, grid ref 753136 follow the old road down to the campsite then CAREFULLY follow a487 to start of the minffordd path. after summiting craig cau, descend and start the climb to penygadair but branch off left to cyfrwy. this has got to be the best view point on the range.. continue over penygadair to mynydd moel then, now away from the crowds, and descend steepish ground though with a distinct path along the flat topped ridge to gau graig. watch out for brocken spectres here!! the route down off gau graig looks unlikely on the os map, its there though.. descend initially towards dolgellau then follow the fence with the fence on your right. eventually you come to a style at 749149 cross over this and descend to to the stream at the bottom of the field. you can now either follow the stream to the point where it meets the old path or take a more direct route over the hillock. either way you are aiming for point 757140. CAREFULLY follow the a487 for about 1/4 mile back to car park. 5 summits in one special cadair idris circular.
