Facility information

Noble northern neighbour of Snowdon, and Wales’ second highest peak, the sheer bulk of the mightiest of the Carneddau is a stirring prospect – especially from the cauldron of Cwm Caseg.

Best route: from the north-west, via Yr Elen (SH683644).

I walked this with a few freinds, we set off from ogwen cottage and walked down the A% in good old miserable weather. We ascended upvia crag-yr-asfa and walked the ridge onto Llewelyn and continued along the ridge to finally decend of pen-yr-ole-wen. It was a fantastic day as the weather cleared and we were met with views across to tryfan and the glyders aswell as over the edge of the black ladders, i suggest everyone gives this a go.
