A very unusual walk this,as it doesnt link up to any other peaks, but well worth a look. The initial climb up through the forestry is a bit steep for beginners, but the path is easy to follow, just keep heading straight up and you can't go wrong!!!But,beware,as the path can be very muddy and slippy on a wet autumnal morning,as I found out!!Once on the top,it is an easy stretch over to trig point, with amazing 360degree views over the Black mountains,Brecon Beacons,Monmouth, and Herfordshire.Overall a perfect morning stroll to blow away those cobwebs!!

Love this hill, been up twice this year already and will be back again before years end. Views across her to bigger sisters and Abergavenny, lower section wooded and fenced to allow free roaming dogs however they should be leaded on the open ascent as there are several sheep at large and not a lot of room for them to bolt too. Often quiet with two options off the top, one leading through the famous 'split' in the hill caused when a local giant slipped on landing having jumped from the Sugarloaf.

A wonderful walk with lovely views of the Sugar loaf and across to the Bristol channel, sitting at the top on a quiet clear day is bliss, try it!

A short yet classic walk this one, well worth a couple of hours. Fine views to Sugar Loaf to the east and the Black Mountains.
