My favourite approach walk is from the car park at SO056176, you get the steep climb out of the way immediately and just follow the edge round North to the head of the valley, then walk west to Fan y Big, which gives the best, all round views of the range. Then back by the Roman Road due South to Torpantau and through the woods to the road and East to the car park. Great vires in clear weather, easy navigating in poor visibility. A gem!
