There’s a Hipora waterproof lining in the Lowe Alpine Hot Grip to guarantee dry hands, while Loweloft 100g insulation keeps you warm. The wrist has elastication and there’s a cuff drawcord for close fit. Some padding on the knuckles is ideal for climbing and scrambling, while a leather palm adds durability. Neat additions include a wrist leash and nose wipe. On the hand these gloves offer good dexterity and good protection for typical winter UK weather. That adds up to a great all-round set of features that should be ideal for most walkers in the UK hills. But some may prefer a removable liner for better temperature control in a wider variety of situations. Also a closer fit would be useful when operating compass and GPS receiver for example.  Some reflective piping would be useful for nighthawks too. Not a lot wrong with the Lowe Alpine Hot Grip though, and generally a great glove for tackling snow-covered hills.

Verdict
The Lowe Alpine Hot Grip is ideal if you want a good all-round winter glove that’s suitable for most mountain situations, at a good price that earned it a ‘Best Value’ award.
