The Auroras are wonderfully lightweight, but they feel quite plasticky and don’t breathe as well as some. They’re waterproof, though, and are a good choice for emergency use. The openings on each hip give easy access to the pockets in your walking trousers but come at the expense of waterproofness. There’s a zipped rear pocket too. Although there’s a zip on each leg, the opening is gusseted, making it fairly difficult to get them on over a pair of boots.
