The very lightweight jacket from Rab has a pleasant, technical look. The fit and length of the arms and body are good, and the deep, adjustable hood excellent. It’s very roomy in the chest, which will be perfect for some women. Although simply styled, the attention to detail is very apparent. The cuffs and hem are fully adjustable, the hood is nice and deep, and the pockets are perfectly placed for easy access with a rucksack. The high collar will help you stay totally dry in a downpour, and the eVENT fabric is very breathable. There’s no lining, hence the light weight.

Verdict: A top quality waterproof worthy of its high price tag. Excellent for its durable feel, breathability and low weight. It is well cut for women, and will especially suit those with a larger bust.

I've been using this eVent fabric jacket for Winter and Summer walking, and it's perfect for both: light enough to carry in your rucksack and just pull out when it rains in Summer; and great outer shell protection in Winter when wearing a snug hug Down jacket underneath. Rab is a UK manufacturer so the UK women's sizes are accurate (a size 12 really is a size 12, and not a teensy weensy size 8 in some other country!). Unlike a lot of other womens' fits, it is not too short (it is a hill walking rather than a climbing jacket), and the attractive luna blue colour is unusual. Although I would still buy this jacket at its RRP £180, given its all seasons versatility, if you have a tendency to buy your Winter kit in Summer like I do, you might be able to snap it up for a bargain £120 too!
