Rab Super Dru

£200.00

LFTO rating rating is 4

Rab is currently top the league if you’re in the market for a well-priced yet functional lightweight hill jacket. The Super Dru extends Rab’s dominance, being designed as a lightweight mountaineering jacket that’s also durable. The fabric is 3-layer eVent, a proven top performer, but you also get more abrasion-resistant fabric over the shoulders and sleeves. The length extends around the bottom, while a superb cut prevents hem or cuffs from riding up. The design is simple, with just three large chest pockets and a front zip, with no frills. The hood rolls down and can be secured, and on the head the wired peak, adjustment and movement are all very good. For hill-walkers and scramblers this looks ideal. But like many lightweight jackets there are inevitably drawbacks. The front zip does not get an external storm flap, so it is possible that leaks may occur in driving rain. The hood peak is not the ultimate, even though it is good. Other fabrics are likely to be more durable if scrambling or mountaineering.

Outer: 3-layer eVent
Inner: none
Fabric waterproofness: extremely waterproof
Fabric breathability: extremely breathable
Sizes: S-XXL
Weight: 410g (size L)
Made in China
Stores in UK: 40

Verdict: A superb lightweight jacket for hill-walkers and backpackers, that is hard to beat.

Oh Dear

That's gibberish there. I was going to edit after I had a wee look to confirm the Montane model and get a link, but the cancel button and submit button are too close for the distracted.
