The Drillium is made from three-layer eVENT fabric, which feels tough and protective, and not at all rustly or plastic. The cuffs are adjusted with Velcro – perfect for venting when needed – and the hem and hood use drawcords to fine-tune the fit. The hood is superb: deep and cosy with a wired peak, yet it packs into the collar neatly when not needed. The pockets are well-placed and take a map, although they don’t offer any venting. In action, the fabric proved both waterproof and incredibly breathable, and it’s this breathability that makes it a winner. A superb waterproof that will do a job in most conditions.
