Rab Drillium

£160.00

LFTO rating rating is 4
Owners' rating rating is 4.5

This lightweight waterproof jacket from Rab is a little tighter than some, and also a shorter cut than most, which will appeal to some more than others. But it proves very comfortable on the hill, with a nicely fitting hood. While the eVENT fabric is noticeably breathable, it really needs some venting. It’s got a great hood though, with a superb wired peak and three-way adjustment, and will cope with all conditions.

Colours: Amber, indigo and black

Sizes: Unisex S-XXL

Fabric: eVENT three-layer

Key features: Taped seams, rollaway wire peaked hood, separate collar, water resistant main zip with storm flap, two external self-draining pockets

Weight: 350g

Women’s version: No

Contact: 01773 601870; www.rab.uk.com

Verdict: A cracking jacket, with a virtually bombproof hood, that would be perfect with a little venting. It packs down into its own tiny stuffsack and weighs next to nothing in a rucksack.

Have been using a Drillium for nearly two years, and it has withstood the elements brilliantly. The hood is very good. I disagree with the venting comments, never noticed a lack of venting as the event breathes so well. The original amber colour is VERY bright and may put some off, and the fit is tight and short, pack size is very good too, in the XXL size.

RE: Rab Drillium

Had this jacket about half a year now. All I can say is that it is superb. The fit is close to the body without restricting any movement. The hood can be drawn in close around the face for when its heaving it down. The eVent lining has not yet let me down. I use this all year round, from backpacking in summer through to mountaineering in the winter.
