Peter Storm Ravine

£60.00

This waterproof jacket from Peter Storm provides plenty of room across the chest and arms, but is very tight around the hips. It’s a long jacket that covers your bum well, with a drawcord at the waist to ensure a snug fit. However, the nylon fabric rustles a lot and more adjustment in the cuffswould be good. A fairly heavy-duty waterproof that, despite its bulk, is relatively easy to move in and keeps you dry in some very bad weather. The deep roll away hood is easy to pack/unpack, but the floppy peak obscures your vision when you pull the drawcords tight. The handwarmer pockets are also rather small and difficult to access.

Verdict: The Ravine is a well priced heavy-duty waterproof with a long, narrow shape that will suit some walkers. However, the fabric is noisy and there’s room for improvement in the hood and cuffs.
