These waterproof overtrousers have been tried and tested for many years and are very popular. They are very lightweight and use a well-proven waterproof and breathable fabric. The trousers have an elasticated waist with a press stud and fly zip opening, which makes them easy to fit. The leg zip has a Velcro adjuster around the elasticated ankle cuff so you can control the fit. They get an articulated knee shape for a closer fit while maintaining a good freedom of movement. So lots of good features for the hill-walker. But the leg zip is only 28cm long, and this made fitting them over my size 11 boots a little annoying and difficult. A waist drawcord would be a worthwhile addition to control the fit a bit better for some people, although it will depend on your body shape! So there are some niggles that mean these won’t be perfect for everyone.
