Very light and very packable, the Atomic is a medium-length jacket with a drawcord adjustable hem and Velcro at the cuffs. It only has two pockets, but these are well-placed and provide venting as well as plenty of space for a map. The hood’s deep and protective, but less adjustable than some; and the collar’s high and very comfortable, courtesy of a fleecy strip. The fabric kept water out throughout the test, but it doesn’t breathe as well as some, and is also a little rustlier than most.
