Sprayway W.N.W (2012)

This jacket is new for 2011, although it’s actually an update of a classic model from the Sprayway line. It’s a straightforward, midweight fleece with an added Windstopper membrane. This wind protection boosts the warmth rating of the top without adding to the bulk, in a similar way to many soft shells. That extra layer of material also makes it feel a bit more substantial than a simple fleece, and so it’s not quite so packable as some. But this means its usefulness actually increases, allowing it to be worn in harsher weather conditions than a simple fleece. The added warmth generated by the membrane means that this is a full-weight fleece best-suited to colder conditions.
