I've had my Mountain Hardware Monkey Man Fleece since October last year and until it warms up I won't go anywhere without it. It is simply the best fleece anyone could ever want. Smooth, silky, soft and hairy I actually recreate early ape like sounds when I'm in it. In fact my girlfriend can't help but pet me when I’ve got it on.
The Monkey Man is constructed from plush Monkey Phur (100% high pile polyester with velour back), which gives you a great comfortable fit that’s both breathable and temperature efficient. It is an ideal under layer beneath a lightweight rain jacket.
It is equipped with a chest pocket and two roomy side pockets deep enough to stuff all sorts of kit. The entire fleece is built to stretch using Technostretch and can therefore accommodate all shapes and sizes. In fact Mountain Hardware say you should try and reverse it to get that warm monkey soft feeling on the inside. The zips are great with no annoying jams I get from other manufacturers and the collar zips right up tight to your chin on those windy days in the rain.
Weighing in at just over 1lb the Monkey Man is a must for any cold hike in the backcountry or alpine route. I hear even Everest Base Campers carry them for security blankets!
