It make use of Polarloft insulation and a ripstop nylon shell, and it generally felt robust and warmer than lighter garments. To keep draughts out you get a baffle over the outside of the front zip, adjustable cuffs, a hem drawcord and a collar drawcord. There are just two external pockets: these are on the hips and take OS maps. An internal map pocket is also useful. The jacket generally felt comfortable and the fit was good. As there are no major drawbacks this is a bargain at the price and you won’t find anything better at £60. But there’s no hood and no reinforced areas (like most jackets of this type). There are lighter jackets, though, while others have pockets that can be accessed while wearing a rucksack or climbing harness. But if you want a jacket just for wearing around a campsite or during rest breaks, these drawbacks won’t detract from this jacket.
