A very light fleece and a really comfortable one too, with a luxurious microfleece finish that feels soft against the skin. There’s plenty of stretch in the fabric and it has a lovely high collar to bury your face into, plus decent-length arms that won’t expose cold flesh when reaching forward or upwards. In the hills, it’s an excellent low-bulk mid-layer, but it also stuffs away easily inside a pack when it’s not needed. It washes easily and dries quickly, and the fabric took a fair amount of wear before it started to pill. It’s let down by having no drawcord in the hem, but it does boast two large zip access handwarmer pockets and it comes with a lifetime guarantee, making it excellent value for money.
