These general walking trousers from The North Face are just so comfortable! They have a flattering, relaxed cut, a pop-stud at the waist for easy fastening, and, at only 275g, are very lightweight. They keep off a little rain before soaking, but dry quickly and are fairly wind-resistant. They’re also really easy to move around in. They don’t zip off, but, if you get hot, the hems can be rolled up and secured with a button tie.

Verdict: An excellent pair of all-round walking trousers, which are versatile, lightweight and comfortable. Simple design and flattering cut, and the 30+ sun protection is a welcome feature in sunny weather.
