Technicals Travel Short 2011

£30.00

For £30 I wasn’t expecting much, but the reality is that not only is the price great, but so is the product. The Technicals Travel Short is made from ripstop nylon, so it doesn’t soak up water when you sit on a wet bit of grass and they doesn’t tear when you sit on rock. They’ve antibacterial and antimosquito treatments too, and they are breathable. You get an elasticated waist, so they fit bulging bellies as well as narrow waists. They come with a belt too for when you lose lots of weight on a trip! The hip pockets take OS maps and the leg patch pocket takes a small (12cm x 17.5cm) guidebook – similar to a Cicerone or Wainwright book. For your keys or other valuables there are two zipped hip pockets too. The rear patch pockets have Velcro tabs. The length is good for general walking and all in all at this price (or even a higher price) they are excellent value. But you don’t get stretch fabric with the Technicals Travel Short, although for me this was not a problem, but of course it will depend on your leg and body size. Equally there is no crotch gusset panel, and again for me this was fine, but some may prefer more space down there. Some higher-priced shorts get a very comfy brushed lining to the waist too.

Material nylon ripstop
Sizes 32-40 (men’s); 8-18 (women’s)
Weight 274g (size 36, including belt)
Made in Bangladesh

The Technicals Travel Short is a functional pair of shorts at a great price.
