Sprayway All Day Rain Pant

£70.00

LFTO rating rating is 3

These winter trousers from Sprayway are a little on the big side, but an elasticated waist and belt loops help get a fairly decent fit. The waterproof lining feels surprisingly comfy against the skin, and the stretch fabric aids movement. A bit baggy in the legs. Although they look and feel like a traditional pair of walking trousers, they are actually totally waterproof. Against them, they are not as warm or breathable as some.

Verdict: A comfy compromise between traditional trousers and waterproof overtrousers, but not too warm and breathable. Ideal for less energetic walking, especially in the wet.

Sex: Men’s

I first saw these being worn by a friend on Snowdon in a day of driving rain and low cloud. She was the only one with dry legs at the end of the day! I first used them in Scotland in some truly atrocious weather and since then they have dealt with strong winds, snow, sleet, hail and rain with never a wet moment - they are superb. I don't plan on using them in the summer as they would be too warm and I have had one or two moments where I have felt that I'm being a bit too rough with them (£70 is a lot of money for what is, effectively, a pair of walking trousers). These are super trousers and very effective. I would recommend them to anyone.
