These Nike ACG Cordillera Pants are made from a wonderfully stretchy soft shell fabric. Sadly they’re massive and don’t have belt loops – using only a basic drawcord at the waist. They’re not as warm as others on the market so better suited to more energetic walking. They keep water at bay well though, and are incredibly easy to move around in.

Verdict: A modern-looking, weather-resistant and very breathable soft shell pant that will work well for strenuous winter walking but check the fit before buying. Great value at just £45.
