Craghoppers Classic Kiwi Zip-Offs

£40.00

LFTO rating rating is 3
Owners' rating rating is 4.5

Quite a traditional fit with a high waist and wide hips, the Kiwi comes with belt loops and a part-elasticated waist for comfort. The polycotton fabric is soft, yet tough and hard-wearing, repelled water well and offered lots of wind resistance. They took longer than some to dry, though. There is a huge array of pockets, including a large cargo pocket, but the zip-off legs are heavy and less comfortable for year-round walking. They also come with a lifetime guarantee – not bad for only £40.

I went through a phase when i switched from wearing ronhills (!), to wearing walking trousers. I spent a fortune on buying 3 different pairs, including Kiwi zips offs. 2 years later, these are the only trousers i wear. I do take them off to wash them now and again, but on the hills, its these or nothing. They are exeptionally comfortable, and despite having ripped the gusset out twice (my fault), they are still my trousers of choice, both summer, and in the winter. They have excellent freedom of movement, a good UPF rating, they're very hardwearing, and have zipped pockets as well as open pockets. If you're buying a pair of trousers, and havent tried these, then hurry up!
