Vaude Ultralight

This excellent, lightweight three-season tent from Vaude pitches easily. Good size for those short backpacking trips for two, with storage pockets and a short line for drying clothing. Porch is ideal for storage of boots and other equipment. Stable and well ventilated with a nice big main entrance.

Verdict: An excellent tent at a good price.

I've had this tent a couple of years now, and think its has been updated, tho i cant confirm this. For its size it seems a good basic tent, very easy and quick to pitch, (outer 1st, or both together), but for me has 2 very large problems. The 1st is that the tent doesnt seem to have much shape, and sags a lot in strange places, particularly when wet. This is not solved by better use of pegs of guy lines, it seems to be due to the cut of the cloth. The 2nd is that it is not the slightest bit waterproof. At the very hint of rain it wets out, and fills with water, as the groundsheets is simply useless. After trying several treatment products, ive resorted to ripping it off, and replacing it! The porch area is very small, but can be opened in a variety of ways to suit the wind/cooking arrangements. The tent has no vents, and other than a small pocket on each inside, its very basic for this day and age. There are much better and more waterproof tents in this class and price bracket!
