This rucksack has an airflow back system; well-padded back and hipbelts; mesh wand pockets; side compression straps; stretch side pockets; stretch front pocket; lower external access; hydration system-compatible; lid with external pocket; tough; men’s and women’s fits. But 2200g is very heavy; three compartments may be more than some users will need; back system offers more support and padding than needed.

Verdict
An extremely heavy and very durable 40 litre sack.

I first started using this bag in January of 2009, I needed a bag that was big enough for me to carry enough gear for winter but also carry the summer gear comfortably. The bag itself can whole a lot more than its suggested 40litres and its split main area is useful as it means all the main gear can be kept in the top part of the bag and the bottom can be used to store food and sleeping bags (packed tightly). The shoulders straps are very chunky however it is extremely comfy and puts less stress on my shoulders than other bags. The back panels are more suited to those that like a large contact area to their back and for the bag to be right next to them and not slightly off like some airflow systems, which is a draw back as the air flow is very limited. The hip straps also allow for very comfortable weight distribution and are fully adjustable. The exterior map pocket on the front is very useful for carrying more than one map and make for easy storage when not in use. A waterproof rain cover is definitely a must but as it is stored in a side pocket it is unsecured which in windy weather is a worry as the chance of seeing it disappear is likely and would be better for to be attached in some matter. Overall this is a very useful bag plenty of storage space, comfortable in all the right places with only one or two minor flaws.
