Mountain Equipment Wet and Dry Kit Bag 70

£70.00

LFTO rating rating is 4
Owners' rating rating is 4

The use of 1000 denier rubberised tarpaulin in this kit bag should have ensured durability, but in our puncture tests the fabric was disappointing. However, the inclusion of an internal compartment for damp or smelly kit keeps your gear fresh. Oversized handles allow the bag to be carried as a rucksack, while a removable shoulder strap is also provided. The zips are lockable, and you get compression straps.

Capacity: 70 litres
Weight: 1710g
Material puncture resistance: 246N

Verdict: Superb features, but heavy and fabric puncture resistance is poor.

This is a good solid kit bag that seems to take the abuse well. And it's often spotted lurking in the corner of shops on secial offer - well worth hunting this little beauty out. The internal compartment for your smellies or wet items is excellent and makes it better than TNF bags. Great bag for lugging your gear around huts and campsites. Buy one - you know it makes sense....

Now a year old, and with serious air miles behind it, my Mountain Equipment duffel has now become a fond travelling companion. Its had altitude sickness in Chamonix, seen geysirs in Iceland, and been on countless climbing excursions. Yet it still looks like new. A take on the original and 'famed' North Face duffel bag, the Mountain Equipment is a cheaper alternative to the 'King' of the duffels. However the price does not compromise on quality, and seems to be just as hard wearing for day to day use. It also has the advantage of having a waterproof storage compartment, which allows wet stuff to be kept from the dry stuff. This addition is also vital for any climbers out there who wish to keep smelly shoes from fresh clothes! However the carrying straps, which are 'supposed' to double up as shoulder straps are extremely uncomfortable, and so it is not recommended for any form of long hikes!
