This daysack from Gelert boasts a concave airflow back system – great on a pack of this price – and this one works fairly well, keeping you cool and comfy. It’s quite short though, and sits quite high up your back. It certainly feels stable and stays cool enough due to that airflow back. Compression straps help steady the load and, although it has less pockets than some, it is hydration system compatible.

Verdict: A neat, well thought-out daypack that’s well-featured and offers exceptional performance for its modest price tag. If you’re on a tight budget, look no further.
