This is a pack designed in a classical way. It’s not exactly NASA in its technicality, more straightforward and dependable, and as such not particularly exciting. The fabric used is fairly hard-wearing and will survive a few scrapes without any discernable damage. In wet weather you will need to make sure your kit is waterproofed inside. There is a rain cover, although it does catch the breeze like a sail when the wind’s up. It’s also a very short pack and sits high on the back, meaning the waist strap sits awkwardly across the stomach. The back system works more as padding than anything else, although over time it could well pack down and become less cushioned. Best not to load the pack too heavily.
