This daysack from Deuter comes with the company’s excellent Aircomfort concave back system, which feels both comfy and cool. The shoulder straps are well shaped and have just the right amount of padding, and the hip belt spreads the load well. Although it has a pocket for a hydration reservoir, there’s no outlet or routing for a tube. Otherwise it’s a decent pack with good-sized pockets and an effective rain cover.

Verdict: Great value, considering build quality, but let down by lack of real compatibility for a hydration reservoir. Nice and light, too.
