Berghaus W Freeflow 30+6

£60.00

LFTO rating rating is 5

This daysack from Berghaus is an excellent fit. The harness is supremely comfortable, with a decent amount of padding on the hip belt and plenty of adjustment in the chest strap. The cool, comfy mesh back system is excellent, and the contoured, padded shoulder straps fit nicely without chafing or restricting movement. The harness distributes the load very effectively, allowing you to carry heavy loads in comfort. The streamlined design and roomy main compartment are great, and the double compression straps pull in really tight to keep contents stable, even with smaller loads. A useful selection of pockets, including a large one on the lid and bellowed ones at the side, make packing easy, as does the split main compartment. The simple single buckle closure is great.

Verdict: Unbeatable for stability, comfort and versatility, the Freeflow is a perfect size for longer trips and also comes at an excellent price. Double compression straps also make it ideal for carrying both large and small loads.

This is a good sized daysack, offering plenty of storage space in a variety of pockets. The harness is extremely comfortable and the freeflow back system does a great job of keeping sweat at bay. It's well put together too and has returned from regular trips to Snowdonia unscathed. Only slight downside is the bowed shape of the main compartment can make it hard to pack some rigid items (like my jumbo sarnie box)
