This 25-litre daysack from Aztec has a shortish back, yet still feels comfortable on, with useful padding at the top and bottom. The shoulder straps are well padded and nicely contoured, and there’s a fair bit of adjustment, up and down, in the chest strap. The teardrop-shaped Airstream has a zipped main compartment. It feels stable on the back and has a good range of pockets, including a useful zipped security pocket inside, and a large one on the front – perfect for a flask. It also takes a hydration system.

Verdict: A neat, good-looking pack that works well without setting the world alight. The back system doesn’t seem as robust as some – something that might worry people who are heavy on kit – but it’s still good value for money.
