Packing tips for a happy 'sack

Pack heavy gear as close to your back as possible in the ‘load-stable’ zone to keep it close to your natural centre of gravity.
Light gear goes in the ‘load unstable’ zone which lies directly behind the ‘load-stable’ zone and is furthest from your centre of gravity.
Any kit that falls between the two weight extremes should go in the top or bottom quarter of the ’sack to even out the weight of load.
Remember to pack it so the weight is balanced horizontally too so you don’t lurch sideways on that tricky scramble section.
Use any compression straps you’re pack’s got to stop half-filled ’sacks destabilizing themselves thanks to movements of the load inside.
