The AKU Cresta Weg GTX weighs 1600g (pair, size 11); suede leather upper for durability; Gore-Tex waterproof lining; full rubber rand; Vibram sole unit with good, deep lug pattern for grip; excellent stiffness for rocky ground; good cushioning; excellent performance for scrambling and rocky mountain walks. But the price is too high compared with other boots that are available.

A classic-looking all-rounder that coped well with both boggy hillsides and more rocky trails. It has a reasonably stiff midsole, about perfect for this kind of boot, and an excellent outsole that felt aggressive enough on softer ground yet still performed confidently on rock.
