Garmin Oregon 300

£350.00

The Oregon is a sleek device with lovely clean lines due to the lack of buttons – it’s activated solely by touch-screen. The screen is a good size and it runs Ordnance Survey mapping by means of the new Garmin GB Discoverer mapping (£130 for a single national park at 1:25,000 scale, or £80 for all national parks in a bundle at 1:50,000), although there’s a limited selection available with no tailor-made options at the moment. In the hills it works well, but the touch screen isn’t easy to use with gloves on. Battery life is a little shorter than some, although a pair of AAs are easy to change.
