Zamberlan Ultra Lite GT 2009

£135.00

The Zamberlan Ultra Lite GT lives up to its name as a very light leather boot for maximum durability and support. The boot has an almost stitchless upper so this, along with a Gore-Tex lining means there is not a lot of opportunity for it to leak or fall apart with use, making it ideal for walking on rough hillsides. The upper is relatively low at the ankle cuff and also softly padded in this area, so this is ideal for those people who prefer a little less ankle support, while still offering protection against scrapes and any water that may try to creep in over a lower ankle cuff. Underfoot there is a very good Vibram sole unit with good stiffness and cushioning for rocky paths, while the lug pattern is ideal for muddy ground. Use this for general hill-walking and backpacking and it should be ideal for most walkers. But some other boots offer more ankle support and more sole stiffness which some may prefer for rockier ground. Also higher-priced boots have stiffer uppers and an even bigger rubber rand for rockier ground. Of course there will be lighter and lower-priced options, but the Zamberlan Ultra Lite GT is excellent value nonetheless.

Upper Hydrobloc full-grain leather, Gore-Tex waterproof lining

Sizes 41-47 (men’s); 37-43 (women’s)
Weight 960g (pair, size 38)

Verdict: The Zamberlan Ultra Lite GT is an excellent, low-priced full leather boot with a waterproof lining, which is ideal for general walking in the valley on the fells.

Bought a pair of Zamberlan Utra Lites for my teenage daughter from Foothills in Sheffield. She has one foot half a size bigger than the other, but with a bit of special lacing, problem solved. The boots are excellent. Out of the box comfort, grippy Vibram sole, very light and waterproof. She has done just over 100 miles in them so far and she loves them. Now she only moans about the walk, not her sore feet!!!! Teenagers, I ask you.
